Sustainable Business Solutions – The new Coalition Agreement.

The new coalition agreement between the Social Democrats (SPD), the Greens (Grünen) and the Free Democrats (FDP) has been conclude and focuses specifically on climate goals for 2030–2045 and the derived measures. These measures include policies to eliminate the obstacles that could hinder the expansion of renewable energies. Other significant changes include:

  • New power market design:
    • Discontinuation of the Renewable Energy Act (EEG) surcharge until 2023.
    • Adjustments to and discontinuation of tax benefits.
  • Minimum price for CO2 certificates of €60/t CO2 from 2030.
  • CO2 – Carbon border tax on imported goods within the EU.
  • Sustainable product design obligation.
